BIMAS Microfinance was proud to participate in the Financial Inclusion Conference and Investors Expo 2024, organized by the Association of Microfinance Institutions in Kenya (AMFI-K), held on the 25th and 26th of September. Themed 'Enhancing Financial Inclusion—Bridging Economic Opportunities and Outcomes,' the event aimed to promote active financial inclusion across Kenya.
This prestigious conference brought together key stakeholders, including local and international financial service providers, investors, government regulators, development partners, academia, civil society, and other industry players. The participants explored opportunities for innovation within Kenya’s financial services landscape, shared valuable insights and experiences, addressed pressing challenges, and identified models to create a more inclusive, efficient, and resilient financial system.
Our CEO, Dr. Patrick Gathondu, contributed as a panelist in a thought-provoking discussion on climate change, environmental risks, and green financing. The session provided valuable perspectives on these critical issues, highlighting their significance for the future of financial inclusion in Kenya.
