Despite the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, microfinance institution with a strong rural presence remains a voice of hope BIMAS Kenya Limited is a credit only microfinance institution that is headquartered in Embu County.

It serves over forty thousand clients, sixty eight percent being women. With a huge presence in rural Kenya, the lender has thirty nine offices that are located within nineteen counties. BIMAS serves economically active low income earners. Its overall goal is to realize sustained economic growth and employment in the rural sector resulting in enhanced social welfare and increased income of the rural population.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team today donated foodstuffs to more than 40 vulnerable and needy families in Dallas, a residential estate within Embu municipality. Among present was the Area Chief for the Municipality Location.

Covid-19 has affected so many people and this has not left our clients un-touched. We understand the risk that has befallen the economy due to this pandemic that has in both ways affected the lifestyle of our members and the entire Kenyans as a whole.

Development organization organized a forum to address the challenges facing green financing in Kenya and the possible solutions. Among the lenders that MESPT has partnered with in the provision of green financing is Bimas Kenya, a credit only microfinance institution with a major presence in the rural area.
“We have partnered with MESPT for the last seven years and this has had a huge impact on our target market,” said Dr. Patrick Gathondu , the chief executive officer, Bimas Kenya, during the forum.

Visiting of St. Stephen Childrens Home, Embu

Bimas Kenya Ltd visited St. Stephen Children Home in Embu on 24th December, 2019 where it presented to them Christmas gifts and shared with them Christmas cake. This is part of corporate social responsibility the company does to the society it is operating in. Others include adapting a ward at Nyeri Level Four Hospital, 

Bimas Kenya Ltd was honoured to take part in the launching of the refurbished and repaired surgical wards 8 and 9 in Nyeri Provisional General Hospital they had adopted through the programme known as Adopt Ward Initiative. The company officials headed by the CEO Dr. Patrick Gathondu officially handed over the wards on 4th December 2019, to the County government of Nyeri through the Deputy Governor H.E Dr. Caroline Karugu.
